Caffeine is not my friend.

So, Prior to my trip to Peru, I decided it would be a good idea to wean myself off caffeine, in case I can't get my regular morning cup of tea while I'm over there. Sounds simple eh? I'd cut my intake right down since Christmas, just having 1 cup of regular tea in the morning, then 1 or 2 decaff teas during the day and I've not been eating much chocolate, and no energy drinks. So, Sunday, I get up and make tea using decaff tea bags. Sunday evening I start to get a bit of a headache. Monday morning, I still have it, and it's worse. I took Neurofen and it didn't touch it. In the afternoon I hit the chemist up for some serious headache tablets, stuff for migraines that has paracetamol AND codeine in it. That took the edge off, though it was still detectable. Tuesday, still got a headache, but no where near as bad, Wednesday, still got the headache, just. Today, I feel fine, however, I ate a fair amount of chocolate yesterday, and that's got caffeine in it, so I may have just reset myself, and be set up to suffer some more headaches in the next few days. I hope not.
Going cold turkey is not fun. Not in the least. One cup of tea a day shouldn't leave me this addicted, but obviously it has. I'm now considering not going back to regular tea when I get back, just so I never have to go through this again.
